Was it weird that the EMT's didn't find my medical id?

I was transported to the ER last week after having a tonic-clonic seizure. I am VERY medically complex and although I have had been transported via ambulance before I have never been totally uncontious to the point I couldn't explain any of my medical history. I was in a college class. and No body i knew well was there. but I have a medical Id I waer on my ankle that has the top 4 things they need to know. I was wearing sandels and nobody cared to look? is this normal?
