No Sound on windows xp, Not a driver problem?

Go to device manager. In view, go to Show Hidden Devices. Under system devices look for ISA plug and play. If it is there, Go to update driver and manually find the driver. You want "plug and play device enumerator". After it installs, Restart and you should have sound. Let me know if that does it.
