I thought I was black...?

All this time I've thought I was black. This is a serious question. My mom is mixed, white and black, but she looks like a white person. My dad is Puerto Rican. Today I was at this party with a lot of hispanics there. This girl asked me what I was and I said what I just said up there, so basicly black. Her and her friends where all like "blah blah girl you ain't black why you tryin to diss yo latina side. Girl you latina stop playin blah blah" I thought Puerto Rican/hispanic or whatever is black? Because they don't look white or asian so what else are they? Someone enlighten me. Sorry for spelling, I'm on my Ipod. I'm almost 15. Thanks(:
