What can i do with this computer?

I start the computer. it shows the start up screen loads. talks about the monitor hardware connected. it says there that start up is having issues due to a recent hardware change. starts to load windows xp, but then crashes i get the BSOD and i cant read it cause it only happens for just a second and then restarts and does the same thing. it wont boot into safe mode, nor the last known good configuration. lately there has been porn downloaded to it so it probably has something to do with that. i understand i will probably have to wipe the hard drive clean and start over. maybe with a later version of windows, i have a lot of docs, pics, music, videos from the family that i would like to keep. if i cant access the OS to back up these things, what can i do before i wipe the hard drive and lose everything.
