CAN I CONTINUE WITH MY CURRENT OS AFTER UPGRADING MOTHERBOARD?

I HAVE HP PAVILION PC (a6440in) and want to upgrade Motherboard and many things but want to continue the os i.e WINDOWS VISTA HOME BASIC that came preinstalled with the system. Is it possible ? How?
